Honda cbr 600 f x doesn't idle from cold, stall when choke is used

Hi I'm new here so hello! Thought you guys know best about hondas so have a question for you that no one else has been able to answer

Okay.. I have a 2000 cbr 600 f x, rubs amazing when warm, until thn I have to start it and hold the throttle open for a couple of minutes till it's warm.

When I use the choke it dies instantly.. This is getting annoying! Lol

I have cleaned the carbs out. But dot know what the problem is?

Thanks phil

If it has a vacuum-operated fuel tap it may be worth checking no fuel is coming through there.

So u think it could be leaking and flooding the engine? We have taken the tab off before and all seemed fine?

Could it be the plugs?

You checked the vacuum line is good?
Pull the plugs and have a look at them. I would replace them anyway if you're going to pull them out though.

Have you checked the choke circuit to ensure that this is working right and the slider is moving when you pull the choke on. Maybe you are giving it too much choke. Try with half?

Your bike should have a fuel pump not a vacume line.

The slider is working correctly, but on one of the carbs a bit of fuel comes out when it's pulled.. Where the choke slide pulls, fuels comes out of the little brass jet looking thing...

Checked the plugs today and they look fine..

Could this be a carb balancing issue?

Cheers

How well have you cleaned the carbs and did you use carb cleaner. If so you did not get any of it on the rubber parts did you? Did you totally break down the carbs when you cleaned them?

Ok. I am thinking it is the SE valves and springs you are refering too. These should not be leaking fuel. Are they installed correctly. Do you have a manual to double check it all.

Re: Honda cbr 600 f x doesn't idle from cold, stall when choke is used

They appear to be installed correctly. Why would one of them be leaking? It's only a little bit of fuel when the choke is pulled. Would this be affecting my idle? Cheers

Have you got the idling screw set right. You might need to adjust that. Thought you might have tried that already. Might be a worn spring on the valve?
