info

whats up guys? i was riding a 05 cbr600rr that got stolen. I am now looking at an 86 hurricane 600 that has been sitting for two years. my question is what stuff do i have to look forward to. ( work wise) the guy said it was running when he parked it. ive never seen the bike but already own it. help

more than likely the tyres are flat and perished at this stage, the fuel will be ruined also, you'll have to drain the fuel system and empty the float bowels in the carbs too and top up with fresh fuel, check sparkplugs, oil etc, basically all fluids, brakes might be a bit seized up to, if you hit the calipers with a hammer a few times it might free them up, but dont use much force.

i figured oil,filter,plugs, carb clean, battery and tires. anything else? all the basics i know

I think it will be a case of what tyres you can find to fit it! the front is a 110/17 & rear 130/17 but the rear rim will take a 140/17 - but not much choice for those sizes over here when i had one.

i believe i have a decent selection. I was running shinko 003 but they suck. always felt like the bike was coming out from underneath me. I was thinking about a set of pilots but not sure how they handle.

I am using Pilots now, they are great, put about 2k on them so far
