Depends on the market in your specific locality.
What do 929's sell for where you are?
How long have you owned it and how much did you pay for it?
The 4000 miles is a worry though, has it been incredibly unreliable or was it owned by a non-enthusiast?
Does it still have ten-year-old tyres on it?

I just purchased it from an elderly man. It belonged to his son who died of a stroke years ago. The bike looks practically new and it is a beast. No signs of it being laid down or abused. Chain and sprockets look clean. I don't know how old the tires are on it but they seem to be in decent shape. I will probably drive it for awhile. Just was wondering how much I might be able to get for it if i decide not to keep it.

Then I would assume whatever you just paid for it is what it's worth on the market.
If it's been sitting for years you can expect to have some problems with corrosion and perishing rubber (brakes, suspension and engine mainly).
Get the oil, brake fluid and coolant changed out ASAP and make sure the brake pistons, fork legs and suspension strut are not corroded.
The tyres will have a four-digit code somewhere indicating the year and week of manufacture.

Re: Opinion: How much is my bike worth?

The Honda CBR929RR was only made for two years in 2000 and 2001. The blue book value of the 2000 is $4360 and the 2001 is $4655. That being said there are a lot of different pieces of information that can change the value of a streetbike. In 2001 there was a limited edition bike produced called the Erion edition, this bike can be worth 500 to 1000 dollars more. Then you have to look at if the bike has a clean title, is not salvaged. If it is a salvaged bike that means the price drops dramatically depending on the market place. Then it comes down to the basics, has the bike ever been "down" (crashed), well maintained, cosmetic blemishes, does it need tires or a chain or brakes? This can also give you room to negotiate.

Anyone can drive a fast bike, few can drive a bike fast!

Surely a 929 is not worth the same in every corner of the US?
The value of any bike is whatever the market is prepared to pay for it the day you sell it. If you only just bought one then clearly whatever you paid for it is its fair market price.

Re: Opinion: How much is my bike worth?

I know what you mean Blade but I think he was just after a ball-park figure. Someone with any item for sale who is in desperate need for cash would be open to a lower "kwick sale" as opposed to someone who is selling the same item with cash to burn and in no hurry to sell. So the sale price does not always reflect the market price in some cases.

But I catch your drift

Anyone can drive a fast bike, few can drive a bike fast!
