2003 CBR954 Electrical problem

I just bought a 2003 954 for $800.00. It had been laid down, and seems to only have cosemetic damage. It has been sitting for about two years. I charged the battery, and when I turn the key, nothing comes on, no lights, no horn, or anything on the gauges either. Even with the charger hooked up, still nothing. I checked all of the fuses (including the main 30 amp), and they are all good. I do know that there is no fuel pump. It needs one put in, and I ordered a new one, but shouldn't something come on when the ignition is on? I have no idea what to check, or where to start. Any ideas, would greatly be appreciated. Thanks guys!

If the fuses are okay then I can only guess that the ignition switch or its wiring is bad, or the wiring harness is not earthed to the chassis or engine.
I wouldn't expect a battery that's been sitting two years to hold a charge. Try jumper leads to a car battery to power the bike until you have a battery for it.

Re: 2003 CBR954 Electrical problem

I just replaced the battery......I kinda thought that too about the old battery. Since my posting I realized that the ignition key is not even for a Honda, and it just rotates around in circles in the ignition. I unplugged the switch from the harness, and there are three prongs inside the connector (that are used) two red, and one pink. I believe that For the bike to run, I would need to connect both red wires together, and run a 3.9v zener diode from the red wire to the pink wire. I don't have a diode yet, but until I get one, shouldn't the gauges/lights do something with just a jumper wire from (red to red) at the connector? I did that momentarily, and still got no results. Thanks again!
