Baffles

Hi I am new to forums, does anyone have any tips to taking baffles out of original cans on my cbr 1000rr 2009? I am not super mechanically minded and don't know if it's possible or even stupid to do. It just sound a bit 'quite' at the moment. Thanks

Re: Baffles

Hi and
I'm too much of a newbie to have a clue about these things but what pops to mind first is why not buy new cans and set your originals aside for resale time? Lots of lovely sounding goodies on the market these days.

Re: Baffles

I know I have been looking, I had an Acoprovic can on last one, I was really looking for a money saving alternative. There are a few on eBay so I may look at. Thanks for being my first ever forum replied !

I think all, or mostly all OEM exhausts don't have removeable baffles. Some people get the original exhaust modified but the majority put on an after market like Gs said. Ebay will be your best bet or somewhere similar.
Good luck and .

I was young and stupid then. I'm old and stupid now.
We get too soon old, and too late smart.
I started off with nothing and still have most of it left.

Re: Baffles

I drilled out the baffles on my 929 exhaust, and to be honest it still didn't sound anywhere near as good as a real can. I did pick up the new can for less than 30 quid though, so not bad at all

If the bike isn't braking properly, you don't start by rebuilding the engine.
