929?

Hello

I used to own a 954. After a number of bikes since then and having crashed my ZX12R last week, I'm looking at a mint 929 for sale with 30,000 km on the clock. What is general opinion of the 929? I have heard many stories about the snatchy fuel injection, but I'd like the opinion of someone who owns and rides a 929. Thanks in advance.

Re: 929?

great bike, love mine to death! go for it! about the fuel injection, doesn't bother me, but it's nothing a power commander can't solve.

It's not as snatchy as my '98 GSXR750 FI.

Re: 929?

I didn't like mine that much to start with - the handling didn't inspire me at all (but it did need a few things doing, including bearings). Now it's all sorted with an aftermarket can, I love it. I have no second thoughts about getting it over hard on the throttle. Fuel range is average, but I don't ride it that slow either.

If the bike isn't braking properly, you don't start by rebuilding the engine.

Re: 929?

Thanks for that, my ZX12r was quite bad with the fuel injection snatch but only at low speeds around town.

Re: 929?

Seems like all the Hondas had that snatchy throttle in the early 2000's. 929's, 954's, RC51's...
PowerCommander helps a lot, probably even more if I would go to a Dyno instead of the canned map.

Re: 929?

I have a 929 and i love riding it..Although ive only owned a bandit 1200 before which is a complely differnt machine...My 929 is alittle boggy below 4k but above that it pulls liike a train...Feels a little heavier than my mates gsxr 600 ive ridden, but doesnt suffer so badly with tank slapping as i think the rake is a little steeper.
