Hey Guys, just bought a 929RR yesterday and it had "black stuff" in the speedometer.. Any ideas on what happened to it and how it can be fixed is greatly appreciated

Looks as if something has melted...

BTW... I am surprised there is a 929 in the philippines! I seen one Sports bike there in a month long stay.

Which part of the philippines were you in? There are a lot of sports bike over here but they only come out in the weekends! You could find a couple of 929's and 954's in Manila and they are damn expensive! Pretty much a lot can afford sports bikes but only a few would want to risk their lives especially on the roads we have! Undisciplined drivers everywhere!

It looks like it's just the screen that's damaged?
In which case open the case up and put a fresh sheet of plastic in.

I spent a bit in Manila, that is where the wedding was based out of.. The Yatch Club. Other then, I went out to Nueva Vizcaya where my friend and his wife both grew up. Cebu City, and then Coron Palawan. I seen the only sport bike in Palawan, could not tell what it was it was going to fast.

I will admit, the roads were quite hectic.. I am weird and like the challenge. It is good to know there are lots of them there, in case I decide to make my residence there haha.

Thats weird.. Palawan should be the least likely place you'll find a sports bike! It's dangerous if you ride a small bike but once you're on a sportsbike. The cars will treat you like a king! Btw, wen't on a ride yesterday going to the CEBU mountains and saw a couple of streetbikes. Namely a Z1000, Ninja 650r, 05 CBR1000rr and a CB400!

Re: 929RR Digital Speedometer Problem

the problem on your tach is that it got wet, maybe when you washed it. same as mine. i bought my 929 and used it for two days. right after i washed it thouroghly and then the speedo went rainbow. the saddest part is that my cdi box went soaked on water. so i cannot use it coz it went broke. now im waiting for the part i ordered on ebay so i could fit it in.
