Indicator delay

Hi
when I start the bike from cold, and flick an indicator, it takes about 5 seconds for it to start flashing, same with the other side, however, after the initial delay, when I cancel the indication, then indicate the SAME side it starts flashing instantly. After its warmed up, the delay is about 2 seconds.
All indicator lights are working with the right wattage bulbs (23w) and it has a new battery.
Could this be a faulty relay or something other?

Re: Indicator delay

Clean your switch out and check for corrosion.

If the bike isn't braking properly, you don't start by rebuilding the engine.

Re: Indicator delay

First blast the indicator switch with wd40. If that doesn't help replace the relay, get one of the LED ones off eBay, direct swap, and since they're all electronic should last longer, including if you later fancy LED indicators.

Re: Indicator delay

Thanks for your suggestions.
I fired a shed load of wd40 in to the switch and clicked like mad, now its pretty much instant, not perfect but good enough for now, until I can get around to stripping it at a later date.

Cheers and merry christmas!
