WILL NEWER PLASTICS FIT ON A 99 900RR??

Hi. New to the site hope someone can help me out.. I recently bought a 1999 CBR 900RR from a buddy, it is Straight and runs mint but all plastics are either damaged or missing.
My question is this... Since i have to replace it all anyway i would love to modernize the look a little. Will 2001 or newer CBR plastics fit onto my 99 without a ton of fabrication??
Thanks any help is appreciated.

for that body style, you wont be able to get the 929 or 954 farings on that bike...

correction, tail faring, your gonna need a 929/954 subframe, as for the front, its a completely different faring stay so idk if its possible. the 929/954 had an under faring, faring stay and 900rr had those protruding bars over the gauges so i dont think its possible with out some decent modification

Tail can be done with just new custom brackets on the original subframe.

Have a flick through my photobucket for information on that swap:

Why not fighter it?

Dont forget seats and tail light too. 929 etc subframes need LOTS of mods to fit but the original can be modded easily enough. Bits can be had on the Bay relatively cheaply. As to the fairings.... Its something I might well be looking at in the New year, I'm happy enough with the streeted blade, but its not a 'proper' blade, if you get my meaning.

Thanks for the replies. I like the idea of the newer tail that is my biggest hang up about the 99 is the real thick tail. I have no problems with fabrication and modification so i wanna take a crack at a full plastics set from a newer bike. I'll post pics of the build.

I wouldn't fighter it, but I like that tail. A lot. It has a newer look to it, but still has some thickness that goes with the 900 front. The 954/929 tail looks awkward with the 900 nose IMO. Actually, the more I look at it, the more it looks like a modded 954 tail with a thicker fender eliminator and tail-light...

Eh?
It's just a 98-9 900RR tail with modded brakelight.

must be the angle of the pic or something. It looks like it's not as sharply angled at the back
