Sounds like the fan switch has failed, also known as the thermostat switch(The bit that screws into the rad).

You do know that it's not supposed to run until the engine exceeds boiling point?

It goes above 102C?
In that case you need to check the thermo switch and its wiring.

Re: rad fan problem 900rr 1997

What 'racer said.

On my 98 (digi temp gauge) it gets to 104c before the fan cuts in - I was getting worried as even in December daytime temps are around 20-23c and I spend plenty of time in a border Q. I seriously doubt your fan will even be activating in normal use in Canada at this time of year.

Re: rad fan problem 900rr 1997

Why not just jump the fan to see if it works? (hook up a ground and a 12volt power source and see if it fires up)

GL!
