Fitting R&G Crash Protectors 2006

Hi I created this small video guide on how to fit R&G crash protectors on a CBR 1000rr Fireblade 2006.

This guide involves cutting the fairings which can be a daunting task. This guide will ensure you cut into the correct place to ensure a professional finish.

Cheers

Chris

Re: Fitting R&G Crash Protectors 2006

How I drilled my holes out took some improvising. I felt the bolt head and matched a 1/8in drill bit to my finger. I pulled the hole to being dead on the bolt head and then kept pulling the hole untill it was big enough to put the hardware in and push the sliding pad down onto the plastic. Traced the slider a little tight and pulled wider as needed. Went very smoothly and now they both fit perfectly flush.

The way I've always used is to take off the fairing, point a laser pointer at 90 degrees to the bolt (make sure it doesn't move), reinstall the fairing, and use the laser dot as the centre of the hole you need to drill. Works a treat.

(btw - horrible midi version of The Chain )

If the bike isn't braking properly, you don't start by rebuilding the engine.
