Hi all

To all CBR929/954rr friends,Who has done CBR1000rr fuel injection system on CBR929/954rr model?Can anyone share some pics?

The fuel injectors' wire are same as CBR954rr that I did try to bolt on, But the secondary injectors on the top is the problem to bolt on....

Anyone of you have heavy modified your CBR929/954rr, please share some pics..

Re: CBR1000rr fuel injection on CBR929/954rr

Much easier just to use the 954 TB's. They're a couple of mil bigger and will be a lot easier to hook up. They don't have the secondary injectors, but you don't need em.

If the bike isn't braking properly, you don't start by rebuilding the engine.

Re: CBR1000rr fuel injection on CBR929/954rr

I've got the CBR1000 throttle bodies on my CBR929.

I had to pull my injector harness apart and wire it so that the TPS is on the left side instead of on the right side like the CBR929.

I had to file down the castings on the CBR1000 TBs to a smaller outside diameter circle so that they would fit into the rubber boots on the head.

I had to port open the head inlets to port match them to the CBR1000 throttle bodies so that there was a smooth transition. A rough transition there would probably produce worse flow than the smaller 929 TBs.

I had to cut a hole in the center of my Airbox to allow clearance to the throttle linkage.

I am now trying to tune the set up. I took it to a shop and they did a couple pulls on the dyno. They said that they have increased the fuel as much as they can and it is still lean. They recommended putting the factory TB back on. I may try increasing the fuel pressure with an AFPR or finding bigger injectors before I give up and go back to the factory TBs.

Re: CBR1000rr fuel injection on CBR929/954rr

What numbers did you make? Have you tried fitting 929 or 954 injectors to those tb:s? 1000RR has 8 injectors so 4 of them won't necasserily be enough.

Re: CBR1000rr fuel injection on CBR929/954rr

I haven't tried the 929 or 954 injectors. Does anyone know what size they are? Are the 929 and the 954 injectors the same cc? I wonder what the 1000 injector cc is?

It would make sense that the 1000 injectors are smaller. That would explain why I can't get it to the right AF ratio.

They did 2 pulls and couldn't get it right but the number was 135 hp. They told me to fix it and bring it back.

What is a good AF ratio? I heard these bikes like 11.5:1

And there are some numbers at megasquirt forum. My AFR is somewhere about 13.0-13.5:1.

Re: CBR1000rr fuel injection on CBR929/954rr

I found the answer to the fuel injector size question.

CBR929 = 280cc
CBR954 = 290cc
CBR1000 = 250cc (lower injectors only

So get 954 injectors and an adjustable regulator and raise the fuel pressure to 4 bars. That should be enough.

Hung: I checked my dyno sheet. The AFR is 13.3-13.4 all the way. And it's been tuned by a guy who tunes allso most of land speed and turbo bikes here and builds motors allso. He really knows what he is doing.

Re: CBR1000rr fuel injection on CBR929/954rr

mika,
which AFPR did you use? where did you mount it? could you post a picture of your AFPR setup?
factory fuel pressure is 50 psi. 4 bars is 58 psi. If the factory 954 injectors are rated at 290 cc (I'm assuming at 50 psi) then they would be about 310 cc at 58 psi. That should be perfect.

Re: CBR1000rr fuel injection on CBR929/954rr

I used this one. It's some chinese cheap FPR but i bought it from a local shop. I mounted it to where the HTEV servo is normally. I have a selfmade servo eliminator. But you have to change fuel line inlets to 6mm on the FPR or to 8mm on the pump which isn't so easy because the return line isn't changeable. Or buy quick releasings whit other end 6mm and other end 8 mm. I don't have a pic of it and i have stock FPR at the moment. I had trouble with the bike flooding when i took it over the stock limiter but the fault was on the pc3 ignition module. How did you mount the 1000RR tb:s and what stacks/airbox are you using? And do you have a full exhaust and what is your cam timing?
