OK! HOW MUCH DIFF WILL A 929 BE THEN A 94 900RR?

I Have a chance to get one, way cheap!!! I'm all most done with my 94 900rr!!! I was thinking about a 01 929 it's way cheap! needs some small stuff and alot of love!!! was looking for info from people that have had or rode both!!! not this

The CBR900RR had a completely new 929 cc (56.7 cu in) engine incorporating fuel injection, more oversquare cylinder dimensions, larger valves set at a narrower included angle, lighter internals, and an all-titanium, HTEV-equipped exhaust system. The "pivotless" chassis had the swingarm mounted to the engine cases but incorporated a brace underneath the engine. Updated suspension and brakes included an inverted front fork and 330 mm (13 in) front discs; and the 16 inch front wheel was replaced with a more common 17 inch wheel

plus what all can be done to the 929??? I'm sure all change the 929 a bit too:-) thou not planing on spending as much on 929, as I did on the 900rr:-( not getting rid of my 900rr!!! i'm keeping it!!!!

I had a 929, and rode plenty of 900rr's. 2 Different animals imo. The 929 is much more nimble and lighter. Just better all around. 900 is still a great bike though.

the 929 was fuel injected so there is kind of a big difference btw that and the 900rr.. FI bikes are ran by computer so it does the calculations to get the most power and fuel economy based off of what you have. The carb bikes, is pretty much the complete opposite where its pretty much hand tuned.

The 929 feels alot more powerful than the 900 because much lighter than the 900rr and also the FI. Not saying that the 900rr is not great but if the carbs arent perfect then it could cost you some hp OR you can have fuel dumping into the carbs causing less MPG. Carbs although are easier to fix compared to fixing a computer problem

If you get the 929, you will be much happier RIDING the bike, but if you have carbs, you will be much happier fixing it if something goes wrong.

If you have a technical mindset and even just a tiny bit of knowledge of how computers work, FI systems are actually easier to work on. I'd much rather troubleshoot/work on an FI system than carbs.

Exactly. I actually can't remember having one problem with FI ever since my first FI bike in 2000(2000 929) Maybe a bad PC, but once removed the bike ran perfect.

Not to mention if you do ever have a problem: hey look at that !! A trouble code indicating the issue

If the bike isn't braking properly, you don't start by rebuilding the engine.

well, i got it!!!! paid 800$ usd! she's ruff!!! she got 6,000 mi on her and she looks this bad:-( she's been beat a bit!!! runs need front fairing, grips,windshield, tank, paint and a lot of TLC!!! I have the 954 front end to put on one of my bikes too! I was thinking about a some mods to??? but first just a clean up!!! then may be all change the fairings??? not sure yet some pic's, last one is of something like what i was thinking of

Really? I had a carbed f2 & f3 and In my opinion, it much easier to work on than my 954. Not as much electrics to get the motor runing

I mean each person is different

I would agree with that, carbs generally require fairly extensive experience to even understand how they work, let alone to diagnose and repair them. Plus, the time involved in the physical act of having to remove, change components and reinstall carbs when tuning is _enormous_ compared to simply altering some values on a computer.
And the lack of components and fine orifices in the throttle bodies makes them far less prone to problems from neglect, and those few problems are very easy to diagnose and cheap to repair.

WOW, it's kinda what I was hoping for!!! still need to put the new tires on and the 954 swingarm! can't get that bolt 24mm off, I need a power tool!!!
I would say the 929 has a little less I would say off idle, then it start to pull around 3,500 or so yea it's light too! for sure with out the whole front on!!! the front wheel came up, just coming out of a turns!!!! WOW the lack of a light fairings and all that jazz helped, i'm sure! plus the 954 throttle body's and pc3, and those extra few cc WoW fun!
not as loud as my 94 900rr that's not so bad... I have d'n'd pipes on them both! but the 900rr sounds nuts!!!! and there is a little wait on full power on the 929 it's fun when it kicks thou!!! unlike the 900rr feels like your gonna get ripped out of your seat, it pulls but not like the 929 there both fun thou!!!!
