929 No Spark and Fuel Pump Not Priming

Help please!
Pulling out what little hair I still have!
929 RRY Built from parts - near completion and trying to get it running.
Engine cranks over great and everything electrical seems to work
EXCEPT:
No Spark (got a good spare plug in a coil resting on a good earth).
Fuel Pump not priming (tested the pump and it does work).
Only MIL error codes are 1 and 9 which are MAP sensor and Air Temp sensor which I don't think will cause knock-on problems?
Anyone got any more good ideas?

Is the ignition switch an OEM item?
Does it have HISS - if so, is it working? Can you swap in somebody else's ECU (you will need to trigger the sensor using their key) to confirm yours works?
Does the bank angle sensor work?
Are the fuses good?
Do you have continuity between the battery negative and the engine and frame?
Do you have power at the coils? At the coil harness connector?
Are you sure it's not Code19 - pulse generator?

Re: 929 No Spark and Fuel Pump Not Priming

Hi Bladeracer. Great to hear from you. Don't you sleep?
Ignition switch is OEM.
Got HISS which appears to be working (Key lamp lighting on dash).
No other ECU currently available to try.
Bank angle sensor working.
Fuses all good.
Perfect continuity all over engine and frame.
Codes are 1 and 9 Not 19.
Not sure about power at coils/ coil harness connector. - What voltage should be there? What's the best way to check?

Re: 929 No Spark and Fuel Pump Not Priming

Just remembered that I completely drained the engine oil.
Not a problem as I don't intend to run the engine at the moment but could the ECU block the spark and fuel if zero oil is present?

Yes, I sleep very often :-)
And the HISS light goes off when you put the key near the sensor?
I would think you should find battery voltage between ground and the positive terminals, with the ignition on of course.
Have you tried bypassing the kill switch to rule it out?

Re: 929 No Spark and Fuel Pump Not Priming

Another known problem with the 929/954 is the ground junction block within the harness can get corroded so that might be worth a look.

Re: 929 No Spark and Fuel Pump Not Priming

SORTED IT!
Thanks for your help and comments.
I took each multi-plug apart, cleaned both halves with a spray contact cleaner and carefully put them all back together. The fuel pump primes and I have a spark!
Today is a GOOD day!
