Fi code 34 on my 01 929

Was looking for help. I was driving today and my bike just died while driving. The red indicator came on and the code flashed 34. The bike would then start but as soon as I touched the throttle it would stall.. I gave it a minute and had a smoke then tried it again. The light still flashes but now the bike worked well enough to get me home... Any thoughts?

Since code 34 is for the HTEV maybe check that it's not blocking the exhaust pipes?

Is that the valve that controls back pressure at high and low rpm? Because I had to replace that valve last summer but when it acted up last summer it didn't react like that it just lost power at higher speeds.
