At exactly what RPM is it stalling?
Count the long and short flashes to get the code.
Is the oil level fine?

How much work can you do on your bike?
FI light is actually the MIL. Malfunction Indicator Lamp.
Can you jump the service connector to get the codes to flash on our MIL?

If the oil light was lit while the bike was running, that's not good.
Last I checked, 954's don't sound to much like a Hardly Ableson, so that's not to good either.

Re: 954 stalling

In your first post you said you had a blinking MIL. You also said the oil light was on.
Fuel has nothing to do with those symptoms.
When you go to start the bike now, when you turn the ignition to on, does the MIL blink?
It should come on momentarily, along with the oil light, then both should go off and stay off after the fuel pump stops self priming. About 2 seconds.
Then with the sidestand down, start the bike.
What does the MIL do?

You may also have a failing fpr-fuel pump regulator.
To check it, lift the tank, pull the small vac hose off, turn the key to on so the pump will prime, then look for any leaks from the fpr.

I'm interested to know about the MIL...

Re: 954 stalling

The MIL is the FI light
The Malfunction Indicator Lamp will light up when there's a code for the Fuel Injection system.
So the FI light comes on when you start the bike, right?
Does it blink, or just stay on solid when the bike is idling and it's resting on it's kickstand?

Re: 954 stalling

And the bike idles normally?
Have you jumped the service connector for codes?
Do that.
Write down all the codes that appear.
Then clear the codes.
Then start the bike on it's sidestand and see what the FI light does.

The manual shows that a solid lit FI light indicates a service connector short, or a faulty ECM.
Do you know anyone that will let you swap their 954 ECM just to see how the bike acts?
Do you have a Power Commander? Bypass it if you do.
