Here is my track bike ,just bought it , what next ?

So here is my new track bike , about to become a road/track bike
I would like to make it look more modern , i was thinking maybe rr8 fairings and seat unit. Are there any specific guides to fitting rr8 bodywork to a rrx 900 and anyone have experience with Proflex racing rear shock personally didnt know they did motorcycle suspension ,untill i bought this bike ,I thought they just did cars

Also it has a 17" dymag front wheel and this is the brake set-up i have i would like to fit usd forks , are there any forks with the same size calliper mounts as this brake set-up is nearly 2000 worth and don't want to loose it.

Re: Here is my track bike ,just bought it , what next ?

Just curious if you're going the daytime MOT route, or going back to full lights? Nice looking bike btw

If the bike isn't braking properly, you don't start by rebuilding the engine.

Re: Here is my track bike ,just bought it , what next ?

nice spec bike you have there, dont think you will be able to do much with the front end unless the 929 /954 has the same caliper bolt spacing... you wont be able to fit cbr1000 forks as they are radial mounts so completely different, still maybe possible to have some brackets made I guess though not sure.

I know one person whos put RR8 race fairing on there early blade, said it wasnt too bad just need to make brackets up from the standard mount points to the new. Pic here:

Toying with the idea of adding a race nose to mine as hate the headlight. Do you have any pics of the bike from the front?

No worries thanks for the pics, the tail unit is a mad doctor aftermarket tail made for the CBR1000RR5, they are expensive and you need the underseat exhaust system.

Re: Here is my track bike ,just bought it , what next ?

Sorry cant help you on the shock not heard of them before.. Considering the other parts on the bike should be fairly decent I would try it out and see she handles. A well setup carbed bike normally have a better throttle response than many injected bikes, I think only the very modern stuff can compete with that direct feel.

Which has a slight irony to it as more and more is becoming computer controlled (ride-by-wire).

Re: Here is my track bike ,just bought it , what next ?

I'm in the process of having a RR8 rear end fitted to my 929 track bike, thankfully I'm good friends with an engineer 'cos if it weren't for that I wouldn't have stood a chance!!

The sub frame has to be heavily modified, to the point where it would've been just as easy, if not easier, to make another frame from scratch.. I'll post pics once it's on.

Next up will be the RR8 fairings, but I don't expect them to be any easier to install..
