1- I guess as long as the correct set of warning lights is there and the RPM signal is the same frequency it should work. Thought about Vapor or other aftermarket clock sets?
2- The original RWU forks aren't very bling, but they are quite good. You can stay with them, fit a 17" from a CBR400 or CBR600f3 for the tyre choice and you can also use the gold brakes off a 929/954/600rr3-4 and these are every bit as good as radial stuff on the road.
3- I wouldn't even try it, fuel lights are generally notoriously inaccurate anyway. Just get good at flicking the (quite easy to grab) nob while moving.
4- looks great, but I can't see how it would handle any better. If anything you'll be swapping a good rear brake for a known crap one, and a relatively flickable 180 for a wider 190 tyre. We know it works but we do not really know if it gives ideal linkage rising ratios. I'd still consider it anyway as it looks wicked.
5- not tried it but I think yes, as the shifter interrupts the ignition not the fuel. Is it worth it though, for the road I doubt it?
6- there's at least one on here with an '08 race fairing. Anything fits anything with a few brackets and such. Things like engine cutouts won't be lined up nicely though. What tail have you done, and where's the pics please?

Got to ask, if you like this old bike so much why are you trying to turn it into a later one?

Re: mods, upgrades and help please folks

I like the ride feel handling so on but it the big bulky plastics thst keep telling to I want a new bike again so after long debate and pricing up its better option to do a few mods . As I said forks swing arm n wheel dobt bother me but so many do it so was wandering if it was for handling reasons . Clocks mine dont work so while im buying I prefere the digital display .

I have the RSV swinging arm on mine and it works as well as the stock item but cant notice any advantages.. certainly doesnt seem to be any disadvantages apart from its 1 lb lighter haha

Re: mods, upgrades and help please folks

I had the same issue with my older 900rr I love the way it feels! but the looks are a little bit old these days, it my street bike so I put the Vfr swingarm on, 99 front fairings and lights, 929 forks, rc 51 wheel, new acewell gauges, R1 tail as soon as I get around to it!!!

the point is it's your bike do what you want! I would guess most, if not all that stuff can be done!
ps my bike has a fuel gauge now :-) still has the res thou

Re: mods, upgrades and help please folks

That's does look good smith like that alot. Any pics of what you've done to the nose , is that a wrap on there? I prefer the 97 cowl to mine, the 98 is a bit bulky I'm thinking of changing to the 97..
