Coolant change - couple of questions

Hi Guys,

I'm giving my blade a service soon and I'm planning to flush and change the coolant while I'm there. Anything I should be aware of? I've already removed the side fairings and the air ducts so I should have access to everything. I read somewhere that it's easier to pull the hoses off rather than undo the radiator drain plug in case it shears in the process? Also how much coolant will I need to refill? I was planning on buying 2 litres but not sure if that will be enough.

Cheers

Alex

You didn't consider getting yourself a manual?

Re: Coolant change - couple of questions

I have a manual - I was simply asking if anyone had any tips from when they had done it.

The manual doesn't specifiy the coolant capacity?

Sorry I thought you meant Haynes Manual! Ok thanks I'll check my manual and see if it says in there.

Cheers

Haynes and the OEM manuals will specify the capacities. might even be in the Owner's Manual but I'd have to check that.
What sort of bike are you talking about?

Re: Coolant change - couple of questions

Better to pull the hoses IMHO. I've had drain bolts snap before and it's a PITA.

If the bike isn't braking properly, you don't start by rebuilding the engine.
