Throttle tube

Hey all having a problem on my 97 900rr got new grips in today to get rid of those damn billet aluminum ones they kill my hands so couldn't get off so I just pulled the tube off and the PO epoxied the grip on great so I will be replacing the tube and left clip on I guess. Well I would like to ride my bike until it comes in but I can't get the top cable back on the tube no matter what I tried and tried even took it loose from carbs and put it on then I could not get it back in the carbs so I put it back in the carbs and tried again no luck please guys help me here driving me crazy like its not long enough thank u

The bottom one you should just need to crack it loose and then it should turn easily by hand.

One more question do I just need to loosen the top cable I can see how to do it but the bottom one I can't see to do it so if if I just loosen the top one will that do the trick?
