The HISS immobiliser.
If you have HISS you will need matching keys if you replace the ECU.

Then you need to buy an ECU with its matching keys.

Re: ECU Unit

Would you know where I can get one in SA? Last resort is to have one imported at an arm & a leg!

Re: ECU Unit

Put up a post in the "want to buy" forum. Someone might be able to help out.

If the bike isn't braking properly, you don't start by rebuilding the engine.

Wouldn't have a clue about SA, or even if other markets would be compatible.
But generally, HISS ECU's with their keys demand pretty good money.

Re: ECU Unit

$$$ not that much of an issue, depending on the price of course. Just need to have the bike running again.

But he didn't tell you about needing to buy an ECU with keys?
Not much of a mechanic in that case.
