95 900rr ignition wiring?

Bought a 95 900RR with some chopped up wiring , particularly the ignition area, I can seem to figure out where most of the wires go except the one black wire coming off the ignition switch, I have a manual but as far as I can tell there is no black wire? Anyone have a close up picture by chance?

not the best picture but it shows the black wire which is coming off the ignition switch, also there seems to be an extra pink wire?

Re: 95 900rr ignition wiring?

Hi Keith, I will have a look at the manual later for you. I can tell you the pink wire is for a security diod to stop the bike being hot wired, the ecu checks for this before it allows the bike to be started. Do a search on here about the pink wire and you will find the info.

Are you sure that black one hasn't been added that ignition looks rather hacked about?

Re: 95 900rr ignition wiring?

Looked through about a dozen posts trying to figure out where that darn pink wire goes to..haven't really come up with much, I do know its neccesary for operation.

- the black wire comes straight out of the loom coming from the ignition switch...

Re: 95 900rr ignition wiring?

so from what i can tell, looks like someone replaced the ignition switch with an aftermarket job and tried to splice the wires back together which arent quite the same, so ill try a stock one...

Re: 95 900rr ignition wiring?

I'm fairly certain on the US 95 model the pink wire came out of the ICM/ECU and went right into a ground. I don't think Honda had that ready for the 95 model year yet. Pretty sure the pink wire up by the ignition is for the speed sensor. Do a search for wiring diagrams on this site. Bladeracer has them up in a thread somewhere. I've downloaded them, but not to my phone.

Update, Hahahaha. I just noticed the wire diagrams are a STICKY. Top of the page.
