Racetech springs

I am looking to send my front forks to racetech and have them service them and install their springs in my 954.

Has anyone had this one? Good service? Satisfied? Thanks.

Re: Racetech springs

I am wondering the same thing. I was also thinking about having them do the rear shock as well. Does anyone have any info on that as well? Sorry for the mini-thread jacking.

Re: Racetech springs

I've heard nothing but good things from the locals here that had their GoldValve inners. As far as the rear shock I've heard only a few individuals mention they had the stock shock reworked and they were happy as well. I picked up an Ohlins for my rear and the change was UNBIELIVABLE. I was going to go with the RaceTech Gold for the front but ran across a set of Ohlins that had been reworked by Kyle so could not pass it up. Once again the ride improved a ten fold. Can't beat it. Just wish I had enough time and dollars to play with tires.

Carl, I'll do a little thread jacking myself. How far are you are anyone on here from Stamford, Ct.? There is a bike that I need inspected cosmetically only if possible.

Are you ever down in that area and if so would you mind checking out a bike? If so I'll send you a message with details. I'm try to make this happen before mid March.
Thanks, Bob

Re: Racetech springs

i had my mechanic do race tech springs and overhaul. but its been too cold to set up the front end or ride it. as for the rear i called elka and had one custome made. made a HUGE difference back there. my 929 has 20k on the clock and that rear shock was SHOT!!!

Re: Racetech springs

I have Race-tech springs for my forks and have to say they look like good quality and are on-par with any other prices that I've seen (plus I got a military discount). I was going to get them installed a couple weeks ago but the weather decided against cooperation. I am having them installed at a local shop for $130 for the labor (I have the fluid, springs, seals, rings, etc.) which is about the same price as Race Tech but without the shipping. The other good thing about having a local shop doing it is if you have (they have anyway) an issue with another part you can pick it up cheaper than what they're likely to charge you, though their prices are decent too. The shipping is my big issue, it can't be cheap to ship the forks out.

Racetech is a top notch company. Been around since early 90's that I know of. Pretty sure I had 01 Racetech springs in my original 93, if not then they were Lindeman. I can't remember. You will be happy with a Racetech service.

Re: Racetech springs

I appreciate all the feedback guys. I will be going with Racetech. I called them yesterday and I am having them ship me their boxes to use for shipping back and forth. So the process has begun!

If I'm not mistaken (and I have been in the past ) it's not only their springs that you want for your weight, but their valves to complete the package, and at one time it was Gold Valves and about $300.00. I know they can rework the stock's as well but for a few extra $'s I'd go with theirs.

Hey Erion, I rarely go that way but if this guy wanted to bring the bike down my way I'd have no problem checking it out for you whatsoever. I could take a lot of pictures for you too. Let me know.
