I ran a year-old gas in my bike and now it bogs

Now it bogs down low in the rpms. The gas was ethanol-free and I put sta-bil in it before it sat.

I ran all the old gas out of it and put fresh gas in it but it still stutters down low. It runs great after 3k rpm.

I know I should have drained the old gas out of it first but 'Doh.

What should I do? I want to sell this bike because I just don't ride it. However, it's gonna be a hard sell with it bogging.

Anyone experienced this?

BTW it's a '00 929.

But it wasn't like this last time you rode it?
Do you mean it bogs when revved or only when riding?

After sitting for that long, I'd test your fuel pressure regulator. Make sure it's not leaking fuel into the little vacuum line. Just raise your tank, pull the small hose of the fpr, turn the key to on to prime the fuel pump, and see if gas drips out of the small nipple. If so, that's your problem.
It's a likely failure after sitting for a spell...

Ok I'll try that when I get a chance. Thanks

Re: I ran a year-old gas in my bike and now it bogs

I pulled the hose and it was bone dry even while the bike was running.

I'd hate to spend $100 for the regulator andf it not be the problem but I can't think of what else it could be. The bike has 32k miles on it and it has been sitting for a year. Do you guys think it would be wise to replace it?

Re: I ran a year-old gas in my bike and now it bogs

I have had my rr8 in storage for the past 3 years. Used stabil initially but no loge ravailable in the uk.
Not sure where you leave but I understand in some regions, fuel grade is changed between summer & winter where temperatures vary significantly.
Not sure where you live and if you fall into this bracket. If so I suggested filling up with fresh fuel and see what happens. Cheapest starting point

I hear ya, hate to just throw parts at it.
Can you test for pressure and volume? I believe it's 50 psi on the fuel pressure.
Fuel filter?
