Throttle cable question???

I am trying to put a new clip on my bike. The right clip on with the throttle cable went on fine, but the cable seems to be dragging when I put it in the channel through the airbox. When it's not in that channel, it's fine, but no matter what I do it seems to drag and when you hold it at WOT, then release, it does not "snap" closed like I think it should?

Anyone have any suggestions for me? Is there a lube I can put in the cable so it does not drag?

Thanks in advance!

Doesn't sound like the cable is dragging to me from what you are explaining. I've had the same problem after removing my cables. I would suggest you play with the settings (adjustment screws) a little bit. Loosen the top cable, and it should work fine again (snap). Hard to explain...

Re: Throttle cable question???

Its not the top cable that one sould be snug. You will feel it in the throttle. The lower cable is the return make sure that it is loose then the throttle will snap shut when you release it.

Re: Throttle cable question???

Prkiller: I just replaced a cable on my gal's 929 and found a similar problem. I properly adjusted the cables, then reinstalled the airbox. Suddenly the throttle doesn't snap back. It was just due to the airbox pushing on them slightly, which took out the slack I had. Once I readjust the cables with the airbox in place, everything worked fine.

I stand corrected. Animal is right, it is the bottom cable.
