electrical Question

Can accidentally down shifting instead of up shifting cuz a surge of power and blow out my HID bulbs?

I don't think so.
However, when I used to race my '90 GSXR750 as a road bike, when I put the headlights back in to ride home from the track she would _always_ blow both headlight globes within minutes. No idea why though, I just bought bulk globes and replaced them everytime they blew.

If you touch any part of the glass with your fingers or get any kind of oily residue on any kind of headlight it can drastically reduce their operating life.
