06 1000 top end noise when cold

I'm baffled here, I've got an 06 and it just started to make noise from the top end when I rev it to 2-3000 rpm when it's warming up.. I go for a ride and it's gone.

Here's what I've done

Rechecked valve clearance.. All within specs

I have a ape cct tensionner.. I cranked it In a bit to see if it was the chain.

Then I put back my stock tensionner

Engine had about 20000 miles.. Never abused or raced.. Still got lots of power.. I could check the compression and see we're it's at. But other than that I'm really baffled..

Any other suggestions?

Have you changed oil type or brand? That sounds just like my 07 bike when cold and I think it's due to a different brand of oil.

Anyways, I wouldn't be too worried. The sound isn't that alarming and when the oil heats up the sound goes away. Just take it easy for the first few miles.

Update on this issue;

I just replaced my cct and the noise is gone!

I realize you played around with APE and the original tensioner, but for me a new tensioner did the trick.
