How I saved a 1993 Red/White/Blue From A Garage ;)

Ok so the title may be a bit of a copy of another thread.

Bike was posted on Craigslist last Sunday as a non runner and I went and look at it Monday. Struck a deal wit the seller and picked it up this morning!

Some where along the line, the bike got a 17 inch front wheel. Unsure what the wheel is from as the seller told me he wanted to put the 16 inch wheel back on and the rotors from the 17 didn't bolt up :dunno

Anyway he gave me a spare frame with swing arm, triple clamps, turn signals, color matched Corbin, new '93 front rotors, another set of wheels, spare tail fairings and miscellaneous sprockets and such.

Please ignore the dried egg on my truck. Some immature clam egged it in front of my house.

Question - I've never seen a flanged V&H slip on for a Blade, were these common? I'm going to bin it in favor of a stock slip on at some point.

This will serve as a sort of project thread (as well as my blog, Motorcycles Everywhere) . It don't be updated very often as I'm currently in the middle of rehabbing a '97 GSX-R110W.

I fix bikes and write about them here. I wouldn't read it if I were you, you will probably regret it.

The title has a good ring to it

V & H did make slip one for the 900, but always seemed cheesy to me. I can't wait to see updates and figure out what front wheel he had on there. Measure the spacers and take detailed pics. ing for more!!!!

Yea any bike I've had with a V&H sounded cheesy haha. It's going to be binned in favor of an OEM can or (if I Can even find one) an original Yoshi slip on. My 94 has it and I think it's the best sounding exhaust for the bike.

The one I Just picked up. Not sure why someone would swap out one 16 inch for another and then remove the speedo drive.

And the PO said it was a 17"? Huh. Weird, I don't know of any other 16" wheel that would not have the speedo drive in it. Is it like the F3 wheel on each side? Just the spacers and bearings? No bigger hole for speedo drive? Doesn't make much sense to me.

Perhaps a later 900 wheel? And that's why the 93 rotors didn't fit it?

You're talking about the red white blue front wheel right? If so that would have to be 95-97 wheel then. Yeah, pretty dumb to make that change unless the original was damaged somehow and that was a quick replacement. Take a pic of the RWB wheel for me.
