Lots of wiring help please

I have reached the point where I need to work on the bike loom. I've had a look through the wiring diagram but still have some questions which I hope you can help with. Even if you can just help with 1 I'd appreciate it ...

1. Are these two wires that are linked here for the horn normally?

2. What do these two spade clips in plastic shields go to?

3. What is the separate wire coming out of this grip thing?

4. Is this light on all the time when the engine is on? If so I think I'll link it to my sidelights and number plate light - anyone know how much current I can pull through it before making things unhappy? I'm not going to do too much but a relay would be an added pain I would like to avoid

5. Is this the main igt switch?

6. Is 4x10A then a gap before the 20A normal? Looks right to the wiring diagram I have

7. Just an engine ground?

8. No idea what these two dangling are?

9. Are these 4 pin connectors rear lights/indicators?

10. Don't know what this one is:

Re: Lots of wiring help please

11. Is this a standard stop/tail and can I run two off it?

12. Again, not a clue on these 3:

13. I'm assuming the black wire goes here as a crank sensor?

14. And the blue wire from 13 goes to a temp sender here

15. TPS?

16. I think these are coil pack wires

17. Speedo sender?

18. Is this for a stand? If so do I make/break the wires to bypass?

19. Does this white 3 pin multiplug connect to the stator?

Re: Lots of wiring help please

You are a legend!
1. Great so the clutch switch is shorted so you don't have to depress the clutch to start the car I assume, I'll make that permanent
2. Ticked off, thanks
3. OK I can't use that but have another so that can go, am I OK to leave it open circuit?
4. I'll try it and see what breaks then!
5. Great, I don't suppose you know what wires do what
6. I'l run with it for now and see what happens then
7. Great, I'll ground that
8. Oh, front or rear do you know?
9. Cool - do you happen to know the pin outs as I don't have the other end of this connector
10. Brilliant, the fan's in the house which explains why I couldn't find a place for this!
11. Cool
12. 3 wires? Is it 1 ground and 2 live for turn signals?
13. What the heck is an ignition rotor?!
14-19 great
Thank you so much for that, you've given me a huge step forward - sincere thanks!!

3- yeah I'm sure you'll figure out if you need to connect it for a brake light. Not a huge deal

8- off the top of my head no, but it's left and right. The ones you displayed in the pics were for the front I believe. The 3 wires allow for running lights as well as turn signals.

9-I have no idea as to what goes where for the relays, but I may have pics I could dig up.

13- it's the "pulse generator" for the ignition spark.

My pleasure.

Re: Lots of wiring help please

Just to conclude this, you were bang on with the advice.

1. I have bypassed the clutch switch properly now, it is just a case of making continuity between the two wires to the grip
2. The horn switch doesn't work but I'll figure that out later!
3. brake light switch can be left open circuit
4. I'm going to run a relay as I'm pulling front and rear side lights plus number plate light off this
5. The main igt switch is getting sorted with a heavy duty switch
6. I found a few other pics so it looks like the gap is normal
7. Engine ground has been mounted on the starter
8. They are indeed indicator wires
9. Separate thread about these relays about to go up
10. Fan switch is redundant as I'll be doing this differently
11. OK to run two tail lights
12. Yup indicators!

And the rest is covered earlier in the thread, just in case any of that helps anyone else

Re: Lots of wiring help please

Wow! I feel like I just witnessed a miracle! A legend for sure. I'm approaching re-wiring my 954. The first owner did some hack job on all the aftermarket lights plus it's not charging. I was hoping to get a makeover for the body, but I think this electo job is gonna wear me out for awhile.

Beyond fear is freedom.

Re: Lots of wiring help please

I must say it's not a difficult set of wiring (especially is leaving it stock) but you just need a few nudges from people in the know and Ian is certainly one of them!
