Clutch not disengaging?

I have a 2005 CBR1000RR (milage is around 25,000 km) and nothing happens after letting the clutch out while in gear. The bike will not move. Clutch lever has good resistance and the fluid was changed 3,500 km ago. Is this the clutch not disengaging?

Re: Clutch not disengaging?

Have you tried any gears other than 1st? The clutch would not be engaging, if that were the problem. What led up to it, was any maintenance performed, has the bike been sitting? Any noises to go with it? Has it been slipping, or did it just stop engaging all at once? I've never heard of an oil causing a clutch to completely slip so bad the bike wouldn't move, but out of curiosity what oil are you/have you been running? If you put the bike in gear, engine off, and try to push it what happens?

Re: Clutch not disengaging?

Same thing in 2nd gear. Will try the others and see if any different. The bike has been sitting for about 6 weeks since it was last ridden. No noises with it or any slippage. Oil was changed 3,500 km ago, I use Motul 7100 full synthetic.
I'm embarrassed to say that a 1st gear burn out led up to it. Also, it got quite hot - during this moment of temporary insanity.
While on a paddock stand, in gear (any gear), engine off, I can turn the rear wheel by hand, with varying degrees of resistance depending what gear it's in.

You may have glazed the hell out of your friction plates.
