1996 cbr900rr petcock fuel wont stop

as above guys , just bought a new petcock rebuild kit for the cbr900rr ,
but still having the issue of fuel still gravity fed , with or without the vaccum ,

no matter what fuel continues to flow ,

so is it rebuilt like this ,

spring / plastic disc / small diapraham , on inside

on outside large diapraham then outer face

sorry for the lack of pics at the minute guys

Here's what the manual says. I rebuilt mine last year but had to buy an entire new valve because the mechanical valve began to leak. Sometimes fuel can get past the valve when the diagram wears and loses it's elasticity.

cheers for that mate , when you say a mechanical leak was it allowing fuel to the carbs ? or leaking from around the outer casing

Even when the motor was off and the fuel valve set to off the valve housing itself dripped. I think I changed it out before it became a bigger problem; leaking into the carbs/engine.

If you look at the pic from the manual the plastic disc is the seat against the diaphragm for the spring. It's tough to see.
