The tire size wouldn't affect the chain not going on. Is the chain possibly kinked up at the front sprocket? What size tire did you put on it?

What size is your rear sprocket?
What size tire came off, and what is your new tire size?

You may need to add a link to your chain to accommodate a taller tire. Did you go from a 50 series to a 55 series?

Re: new tire and wheel doesnt fit

without knowing whether or not you changed from OEM size tire (and/or rear sprocket teeth) I'd guess that your spacers (SIDE COLLARS) are on backwards.

double check with your service manual, ensuring the "top hat" collar is on the DRIVE side and the smooth collar is on the brake side.
