Spark plug splash shield

Good day Gents. I am putting a beat old 954 back together again after doing some repairs and forgot how the triangle shaped plastic splash shield on the top front of the engine is installed. I didn't make note of how it went and none of the rub marks on it give a clue as to how it goes. I would appreciate any help and pictures would be great. Thanks for the help!

Re: Spark plug splash shield

I have a service manual with photos of the guard you are on about. If you want I can send it to you.

With the Heat guard look at this drawing. The throttle cables go over the top.

Re: Spark plug splash shield

Thanks for the reply. I have both the factory manual and the Haynes. I didn't see it in the factory one. I will look in the Haynes. If I cant find it I will give you a shout. The drawing you gave me is a huge help. Thanks again!

Re: Spark plug splash shield

Yeah there is only one photo used twice in the factory manual, it's near Section 8-10. The photo isn't very clear though. Good luck.
