upgrading 93 rear shock questions

I have a 30k mile 93 blade with a tired stock rear shock. I am currently refreshing the front forks with new stanchions (old ones corroded and leaky), Racetech springs, and bushings/seals. The rear shock I was considering 2 alternatives - a YSS rear shock off ebay for $360 shipped, or I have a 12k mile good spare 2006 CBR1000rr shock off my other bike. According to the Racetech specs I have read both have similar eye to eye length and shock travel, but the 93 has a 15kg/mm spring rate and the 06 has a 12kg/mm spring rate. By my weight (without gear ~180 lbs) both spring rates are very close to recommended in those bikes (93, 06) but I am wondering if that means I need to switch the 06 to a 15kg/mm spring rate? Any clarification would be greatly appreciated

Re: upgrading 93 rear shock questions

Update - the CBR1000rr rear shock is not going to work b/c 1) the fixed angled reservoir will not clear the undertray of the seat 2) the bottom mount is a fork mount instead of an eye. I went ahead and ordered a YSS shock from a German ebay reseller for $360 shipped http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=1271664518013. The spring it comes with is a 60-150-150 rating which I cannot decipher but hopefully is close to my 180# ungeared load

for my corroded front stanchions I found this seller on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/251893262075...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
