Re: Temp gauge on tach 954

id start by checking the wires going to the engine coolant sensor(ect) it located near the back of the block where all the coolant hoses are.

it sounds like youve jiggled a wire loose or possibly a short somewhere. id pull the fairings off and start by unhooking the ect n inspecting the connector, clean it if its dirty. they make special electrical connection cleaners that can be found at auto parts stores. it comes in an aerosol can. then id put some dielectric grease on the connector n hook it back up.

it could be any one of the connectors in the harness from the front to the back so do the same for all of them in the wiring harness until you hopefully find the one thats not quite connected or dirty. you prob bumped one of them taking the fairing off n putting them on. itll be a bit of a pita but mostly just kinda time consuming going thru the connections n doing a little maintenance.

if that doesnt solve your problem id suggest downloading or buying the service manual. it can be easily found online. it has trouble shooting guides to help you find the problem. id bet its just like i said tho, a loose or dirty connection somewhere that was just barely hangin on till you bumped it doing the oil change.

heres a pic f the ect;
