Looking for gauge face for 954

I rode the bike to work yesterday and when I came out my tach gauge face had a 1" melted spot in it. I am pretty sure it was from my ZG double bubble windscreen. Do any of you know where I can get an new face? I would prefer a new OEM one. I called Ron Ayeres and they can't get one. Are there any good quality aftermarket faces out there? If I can't get an OEM I would settle for white gauge face.

Thanks,
Jason

Yup it's from your ZG DB screen. Very common problem. Is it the Tach part of your gauge or the LCD speedo display? You can get the tach cabkground in just about any color you can think. If it's the LCD, you are gonna need a whole new cluster.

{edit}I would suggest ebay, since a whole cluster is like $350.

It is only the tach. Do you have any links to sites that sell gauge faces?

Re: Looking for gauge face for 954

You need to replace the plastic gauge cover, not the gauge face itself, right?

Not too sure if you'll find the clear plastic cover anywhere. Most likely you'll have to get a new cluster. If you want the faceplate go to www.mototeck.com they have some.

Re: Looking for gauge face for 954

It is the gauge face itself. The part with all the writing and numbers on it. Not the plastic cover. If I were to install a new gauge face you wouldn't know it ever happened. Thanks for your help guys.

Interesting. I think all the other reports of this involved the plastic gauge cover itself being melted.

When the key is in the on position the background lite shines through the burnt spot. It isn't that bad in the day but at night it gets on my nerves.

I think Honda might cover that. Check with your dealer
