Sealing the airbox

Hey all.

It's come to my attention i have a couple of issues with my airbox and so got a second hand one. Basically at some point the lid has warped on my current one and so it's not getting the best seal.

Anyways, both my old and new airbox also have some cracking in the sealant where the rubber boots are attached. Have any of you guys replaced this sealant and if so, with what?
It's my understanding that the carbed blades at least were sealed with sealant at the factory.

Cheers!

Re: Sealing the airbox

I just saw this thread, sorry for the delay, but I just did this very thing up to a point.

I bought a second hand lower box as mine had a broken/missing mount tab (the one that secures it to the left coil). So one of the boots was twisted and the small almost useless locating tab was out of the detent. So when I twisted it back the old sealant got all messed up. So I just used some black RTV on the outside of each boot. Should be ok. I haven't run it yet, but will sooooon
