Aftermarket shift kits 929rr

Hey guys, so just recently my 929 has been misshifting every so often as in finding false neutrals in between gears and popping from second gear back into neutral.
I have researched and read that the factory pro shift kit would clear up these problems but the only place I can find the 929 kit is on their website where the star is sold separately from the shift spring and arm.
Buying these two separately would add up to around $300 which is more than I'd like to spend on the kit.

Does anybody know of any other sources for the shift kit or any alternatives that could remedy the shifting problem I'm having?
I have also heard that worn shift forks could lead to this problem. What do yall think?

Re: Aftermarket shift kits 929rr

Popping out of gear is usually caused by worn dogs on the gears, which if uncorrected can then cause worn selector forks and a worn shift drum.

The Factory Pro Evo shift kit comes with everything you need: shift star, arm and heavy duty spring. The shift kit makes a big difference with shifting but the shift drum and forks need to be checked for wear or damage too.

Re: Aftermarket shift kits 929rr

the shift kit is great, i have one, but if you're popping out of 2nd to neutral you need gear or shift drum work, the Factory pro kit will not fix that. mine was doing that, popping from 2nd to N if i was on it hard, ended up needing a new 2nd gear, 6th gear, 1 (of 3) shift fork, and i put in the Factory Pro kit while i was there doing the rest.

Re: Aftermarket shift kits 929rr

Thanks for the input guys.
Popping from second into neutral only happened once so far.
Over the past few days I've been focusing more on a firm shift and complete clutch pull and i haven't hit any false neutrals.

I can't find the factory pro evo shift kit anywhere. I can only find the star sold separately from the other two parts, even on their website. Mind sharing a source for the Evo kit?

Thanks bros

Get SHFT-EVO-H95-KT for the 954. No difference between 929 and 954.

Good to know the 954 kit also works. Thanks for the heads up.
I'll probably be ordering that one when I get sufficient funds

Re: Aftermarket shift kits 929rr

This will be my next mod, my old 929 had a crappy gear shift also, it would jump out and in whilst in 2nd for a split second.

954 isn't a whole lot better, not jumping out of gear but sometimes it'll clutchless upshift fine and at other times it just won't have any of it
