No. Just make sure you don't remove, or move the servo that controls the flapper and the HTEV. Just remove the cables from it and leave it in its "default" position.

cool, thanks! that is at the top (other) end of the cables? so in essence i will remove everything including the cable just not what they attach to?

Unless you have closed loop FI, bikes that have feedback o2 sensors like BMWs, you wont have a problem. We have what is called PGM FI Programmed Fuel Injection. It looks at temp, throttle angle, rpm etc and picks out the best map for it, regardless of what you have altered.

Being a "lucky" Californian, I have (had actually) an O2 sensor on my 929.
