How do I get the alternator rotor off the crank '01 929?
I don't have the Honda tool and have been trying to use a conventional gear puller-I've got a lot of tension on it, but it won't budge...I even tried a propane torch to expand it while puller is installed with tension! The reason I'm doing this is because I had dropped the bike and broke a small chunk out of the crank case where the side cover mounts. I had it glued in place with JB Weld, but oil eventually gets through, so I want to try to solder it in place and the rotor is in the way. If someone knows of a better oil-resistant glue I can use to get the chunk of aluminum back in place.
