Re: CBR1000RR 2005 HIGH MILEAGE

You're just shy of the Valve inspection interval. I'd get it done now considering you don't know if the PO did it at 16k or not.

Normal routine: change all fluids (including fork oil). Inspect everything (bodywork off if possible looking for cracks in lines, etc to preempt a replacement part.

Enjoy your ride.

Many folks are getting the 06/07 rear link and upgrading the F/R suspension and front brakes. I'd wait until time for new rotors however.

The 06/07 rear link offered the updated geometry and is the same part sold for the 04/05 as the HRC link which was one of the main changes that updates the bike, the others being engine, 320mm vs 310mm front brakes and revised suspension. There might be a difference in the swingarm length, not sure. There are other minor differences but none are performance related. All of these changes were for better handling as the WSBK team campaigned the bike and a few of the tweaks made their way on the production bike.

If you wanted, you could retrofit them onto your 05. The engine though would likely not be worthwhile unless you blew the motor.

That's only 2500 a year, not really a high mileage, the service history and invoices should tell you what's been done/replaced.

Any pictures?
