Temperature Reading on SC28

Evening all - just a little query - my temp guage seems to read very low - just moves off the stop when out for a 30 mile ride at lowish speeds. Does n't seem normal - temp sensor ???
Cheers

I would check the thermostat as it might be stuck open.

Re: Temperature Reading on SC28

Sounds normal, they do run very cool and take some time to warm up completely, so never thrash them from cold, I don't open mine up until the needle on the gauge moves a bit, my fan very rarely comes on, only in hot weather in very heavy traffic.

I'd be more worried about running too hot or the fan continually cutting in.

Thanks gunk - went out today for about 60miles and it drives really well. My old blade was the same - rarely did the fan kick in - it never seemed to get even to midway point on guage. Got a few other projects on the go so might leave it a little while.

Re: Temperature Reading on SC28

I was out on mine this morning and had an opportunity to really wind it up to beyond 10,000 rpm, the fan kicked in when I had to stop for a red light and the temp gauge was reading about half way.

Perhaps these bikes are running cool because most of the time we are not extending the engine anywhere near its capability.
