My 93 is finished, job done!

After a 6 month cosmetic restoration (and minor mechanical work) my 93 is finally finished!

I've just been back from a last ride out and it was awesome! Sadly it will be going and a very good mate is collecting it a little later tonight, but he lives just round the corner and will put me on the insurance, so I'll still take it out for short occasional rides.

Thanks to all who have offered technical advice and guidance (particularly Ian Doohan), I'm missing it already - but I'll be collecting my upright tomorrow; I've bought a 1976 UK Kawasaki Z900, I'll post a photo or two if interested...........?

Here's a few photos from today and more are here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/115740...57683771843155

Cheers
Andrew

Stunning! Nice to see you also use a block of wood under the side stand!

Fantastic job Andrew, your love for that bike showed in every detail you took care of. We always appreciate good guys and their bikes, so make sure you post picks of your new Kawi.

Thanks guys - Gunk, my top-tip to my mate Dave is to keep a piece of wood under the pillion seat!

My inner OEM OCD suggests that you order a period correct pressed aluminium rear number plate for that!

Thanks, the 93 was stunning when I'd finnished it. The Big Zed is good to go as is, and it sailed through the MOT on Saturday - I spent 5 hrs cleaning the old girl yesterday, now it's very spangly - was going out tonight to a local bike meet but didn't get back from work until late!

On the cards Gunk, although I do like the yellow plastic one with 'Z1 Owners Club' as a footnote but if I can replicate that in pressed aluminium then that'll do nicely.............

Re: My 93 is finished, job done!

93 looks really nice. I have a soft spot for old Kawi's. I had a Z1R and a H1 triple. Would love to have another Z1R but I swear the H1 was trying to kill me.

Thanks for the generous comments everyone and thanks for the link Ian.

I've been trying to get out on the Zed for my first ride but the weather has been pretty crap - so much for the heatwave this week we were promised by the Met Office...........she's all dressed up in her polished party frock and we can't get out!

Hi Andrew - best of luck with the Kawasaki - if it turns out as well as your Fireblade then you should be well pleased. That was a great restoration - well done
