So the drama continues on my 2003 954RR. I already changed the exhaust to a longer one to add more backpressure and it runs better than a short can. Problem is, it still runs too rough below 3k rpm. Very hesitant and iffy. Like a lumpiness. Add to the fact that for some reason, I get a ton of false neutrals under hard acceleration, especially in second and third gear.
- Fouled spark plugs? Maybe check that the cylinder heads are torqued down properly? Clean airbox?
- Bent shift forks or need new dogs in the tranny?
As for the electrical issue, my dash is pretty much on the fritz. Neutral light comes on sometimes, low fuel light comes on above 9k RPM, and when I redlined the bike, the dash just reset like someone turned the key off and on. Killed the engine, too. Could this be some screwed up wiring job? I have a wire that's grounded somewhere?
Bike runs and I can take it around. Just runs pretty badly.
Any advice would be appreciated. Hopefully this isn't some ECU related problem.
