CBR1000rr 2008 front forks

Hi Guy's, just purchased a 2008 blade and there are obvious problems with front end, which I can solve but just a general question as I have not stripped a set of Showa forks fo a blade before, the damper rod holding bolt when I took it out it looks like a banjo bolt is this correct or should it be a solid bolt? my reasoning behind the question is I feel that the banjo bolt is much weaker that a solid, any info would be great Thanks in advance..

The fiche shows it as a banjo, so I would expect that there is fork oil needing to move through it once installed. Maybe @Jaybird180 will have more info. I think he took his 07's apart.

Re: CBR1000rr 2008 front forks

Thanks, I have been looking at the construction of the forks and yes it is a banjo type bolt as far as I can see the rebound needle controls the oil flow through the banjo bolt, if I am wrong someone can correct me..

Re: CBR1000rr 2008 front forks

The 2008 Fireblade was a newer generation than my bike. I'm not sure what changes were made in the newer suspension. My signature contains a link to my build and inside there will be discussion regarding the fork build.
