Honda 929rr Flush Mount Turn Signlas?

Hello, new to this Forum,

I own a 2001 Honda 929rr Fireblade and need help locating GOOD flush mount front turn signals to be installed in fairing area. Would anyone have a suggestion for where to begin looking for this? I have looked at Hot Bodies flush mount signals that do look good just wondering if other companies offer these flush mount signals?

Thanks,
Dave

I have Greggs customs on mine, they've been on the bike for most of it's life, still working great too.

Hello again,

Quick question, did you polish your exposed frame to attain that nice shining appearance?

Sure does look like it. I did a buddy of mine’s last year (954, but almost the same), those frames are tough to get right. But look amazing when polished.

Hi Dave,
Thanks, I bought the bike in 2005 and it had the chrome rims and frame already polished. I need to repolish it to get it shiny again.
Edit, the Swingarm is polished as well but it needs to be buffed out to get shiny again.

Re: Honda 929rr Flush Mount Turn Signlas?

I use Proton flush mounted lights. HighTechSpeed: Brightest LED turn signals, flush mounts, brake lights for Ducati, Triumph, Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki they are awesome in my opinion. some of the best costumer service i have ever dealt with. i had a set form 2016, had a electrical failure that caused a resistor to fail, i printed out an RMA, sent them back and they upgraded the lights to the new model they had, 5 different flash settings and very easy to install and change the light settings.

Thanks!
It's looking a little rough as of recently, it went down in a low speed high side. I'm trying to get it back to it's former glory. you just gave me a good idea for a custom lic. plate.

Re: Honda 929rr Flush Mount Turn Signlas?

I do ! Having a Cluster FK ........fixing my password on this dip **** site! It is becoming very aggravating correcting it!

I will get some up very soon when I take photos with my Nikon on a Nice Sunny Day. The 29er has been redone {Painted but was done nicely.

I do need additional help with a mechanical issue with my bike. I just purchased it about a month ago. I've found it is stumbling pretty good starting out from a stop to about 2000 RPM's then it clears nicely! I've seen other posts that lead me to believe its something in the ECU and a flash? Not sure? Any Help Would be Appreciated.

The low end stumble could be something as easy as installing a Power Commander if you don't already have one. The early 929 and 954's were notoriously finicky just off idle, and the PC seemed to clean it up a little. Then there is the air-box flapper and the HTEV valve issues that some have. If you're not familiar, there is a flapper in the air-box that in Honda's wisdom thought if they varied the path and amount of air coming in, they could change the power curve in conjunction with the exhaust valve. All relatively simple to troubleshoot, and there are countless threads on numerous CBR sites that outline the mods. When you start talking about ECU issues, this is where they get a bit troublesome. As long as your fuel pump primes, and the enginies starts up, you have a good ECU. I'm fairly certain these older bikes can't get an ECU flash but, I think your issue is more a fuel/air ratio problem at that RPM, which a PC or different map will help.

list out all the mods that are already done to the bike too, that will give us more of an idea as to what to recommend.

Frame polishing is an art. It takes lots of time, patience and SANDPAPER! The process is easy, but very time consuming and monotonous. sand the anodizing or paint off the frame. Gradually step down grit from course (100 or 180 grit if removing paint or anodization) to ultra fine (2000 grit wet). Every grit change, you sand in the opposite direction. That shows you that you removed the deep scratches from the previous grit. the last step is using a mag polish like Mother's to bring out the shine. The other pics I posted showed a small progression of that, but here are a few more.

I'm not a shiny parts guy but I have a respect for polished aluminum after hand polishing a set of first gen rx7 wheels in high school. Took me weeks to get each wheel from looking cast to a mirror finish. +1 for mother's polish. It's great stuff.
