1993 Forks lowered

Folks

more advice as this is something I am not familiar with - the 93 project I just purchased as a lowered front end and I want it to be back to factory.

Does this mean adjusting the forks or buy new ones as the current have been cut lower?

Cheers

Shrek

Re: 1993 Forks lowered

Def not right, but I’m gonna guess and say not cut, at least not externally. My guess is they either removed the spacer and/or cut the spring. Both of which can be had for replacement. The spring preload is dialed all the way in, kind of confirming my guess. You won’t know for sure until you take them apart.

Also, this site hates pic taken by phones unless the phone is held horizontally, with the home button or “bottom” end on the right. The pic orientation gets messed up. I tried to redo for ya.

Ian - thanks for the heads up on the photos. Will be pulling forks out in 2 weeks, as a back up already looking for another stock set on ebay etc.

Nice, do yourself a favor and look for 95-97 forks. They’ll slide right in AND give you full adjustablility by adding compression damping. I found some wickedly cheap on eBay for my 93 a few years ago when I did my rebuild.

They’ll even have the stop for your speedo gear.

This does not look bad either as a replacement - https://www.ebay.com/itm/93-94-95-CB...53.m1438.l2649

Agreed, but I’m pretty sure for my 96 forks I paid $120, which is about as much as I would pay.

Yes you get a good set of fully adjustable forks, but the calipers and headlight are only worth about $50 on a part out.

Hold out for something way cheaper.

Re: 1993 Forks lowered

might just make him a offer and see what comes back - $150-180 would not be bad.

Re: 1993 Forks lowered

Closing out this thread, was able to find a really good set of Forks for $120 on Ebay. Standing them next to my Lower forks they have approx 2 inches higher (factory) which is exactly what I wanted.

thanks all for the advice
