Re: Known CBR900rr issues? (w/ pics)
Not a lot of "flaws" in the old girls. Honda made some ergonomic and/or convenience changes through the SC28's time, but everything was pretty much the same from 92-95.
Hard ridden bikes (aka wheelies) will lose second gear, and over time the regulator rectifier will burn out, sometimes for no reason, and sometimes because the stator hammers it with too much power. Both easily repairable, and not catastrophic. A well maintained engine (regular oil and filter changes) will last forever, and can go well beyond the 16k service inspection limit on the valve shim adjustments.
The carbs may need some work depending on the amount of operation it has seen recently, but they're easily worked on too. The electrical system is quite tame, as there are no overly complicated systems as on modern bikes, and Honda never had a problem with them.
Suspension is decent, but the fork oil may need refreshing. Check the obvious stuff, and let us know if you pull the trigger. GOOD LUCK!!
