Bain's progression.

So Bain's progression, aka trying to rectify years of abuse, neglect, and bodging. I am still asking myself WHY! Getting there , when I feel like it, on stripping it down, engine out next then the swingarm and steering stem. Idiot I got it from (at times I do think was he the idiot, or you for buying it) was still using it with that front tyre, the rear is only marginally better. I think the disassembly can best describe it's previous owner with the following. The three bolts that hold on the end can consisted of one 13mm one 12mm and one allen bolt, which he had cross threaded. More times than I care to remember something that rhymes with tanker has been uttered whilst I'm trying to sort out whatever bodge I've come across. I had to give myself a pep talk the other day by reminding myself that at least , unlike the Mini I restored a few years back, I'm not going to be spending countless hours sorting out tin worm and cutting/welding new panels. It sort of worked.

Re: Bain's progression.

With all the bodywork off it actually doesn’t look that bad, what are your plans for it?

Re: Bain's progression.

The motors good, first thing I checked, and the only reason it didn't get parted out, so largely it will be recon/rebuild/replace as required and mod it for a nice comfortable ride. Really haven't decided on what to do with the plastics (they need some welding) but I have never been a fan of the Repsol colours, also a pain in the arse to spray, so they won't be staying,

Re: Bain's progression.

It's the little things that try. Spent far too long trying to get the ignition switch out of the top yoke (no keys grrrrr). Nice drift and a hammer, endless fun. Didn't move a jot. Pair of long nose pliers, straight out, you live and learn.
