HTEV headache CBR929rry.

Hi guys/gals. First post so please excuse any infraction of etiquette. There are lots of posts about HTEV faults but I have yet to find one that helps. Mine stopped working a few weeks ago and eventually the MIL light started to annoy me so I had a look. The exhaust valve was a bit stiff but once cleaned moves easily. Cables ok. The servo itself seems to be in order, motor works with a 12v feed, pot reads 5k with centre tap working correctly. The continuity from the servo to the ECU is fine. All instruments work fine so I'm guessing the REV feed is ok. Only thing I cannot test is the ECU itself. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Take the servo motor out of the bike and unscrew the 4 screws. Take the top off and also remove the pulley, then there’s two screws near the motor take them out and the servo will come apart showing you the nylon gears underneath. Probably fine one or more of them has stripped off the teeth. Just found the same on mine.

Re: HTEV headache CBR929rry.

Thanks for the reply Mustang. I have already stripped the servo and everything is working fine in it. If I put 12v on to the motor it all works correctly and continues to turn. The problem seems to be that there is no voltage reaching the motor. The wiring is fine. The problem is either the ECU or whatever signals the ECU to move the motor. Everything else on the bike works correctly. I was hoping someone else had a similar problem and managed to fix it. As the bike runs ok I'm guessing the tach feed to the ECU is ok. Total head scratcher.
